Additional info/contents	The solo part (cued for oboe) is intended to introduce an entirely new timbre to the instrumental ensemble. The conductor should choose between soprano voice (vocalise) with very pure tone or harmonica. The performer should be situated in the midst of the ensemble (not out in front) and should be very carefully miked. Please note that Nightsong, the solo part with rehearsal accompaniment included with rental materials, contains additionals passages which are not included in this score. The conductor is encouraged to include these passages in performance. Some ensembles may not have the full complement of percussion instruments or players called for. In this case the conductor is urged to select the most 'telling' instruments and adapt the parts accordingly. The performance time is ca. 10' 40'.
