Air aus 'The Double Dealer' The four movements are so full of musical contrast that no problems in view of the interpretation will arise from that. The instrumentation was deliberately kept simple, and lives of the changes of sonority of the various instrumental choirs of the band. The ideal state of the art for the arranger would be: The Suite being performed by a 'slim' band, an ensemble with one player only for the brass instruments (with the exception of the first trumpet and the low tuba) and choric instrumentation for the woodwinds. However, there also is some appeal in a performance by a large band. Purcell's music and this arrangement allow both approaches.
