Additional info/contents	The Smetana Fanfare was commissioned by the San Diego State University Wind Orchestra. The premiere took place in April 1984 in San Diego, where a 'Festival of Czech Music' was held to mark the 100th anniversary of Bedrich Smetana's death. Magnificent work from Karel Husa written in honor of Bedrich Smetana. Demanding for all sections, the work begins quietly and quickly builds to open a concert with intensity and grandeur.
