Additional info/contents	Prisoners' chorus from the third act of the opera Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). The original title of the choral work is Va, pensiero, sull'ali dorate (Fly, thought, on golden wings). The Prisoners' Chorus is probably the composer's best-known work and also contributed significantly to the success of the opera. According to Verdi's own account, he immediately felt an urge to set the Nabucco libretto to music when - in search of new operatic material - he turned to the page of "Va, pensiero, sull'ali dorate". Arranged for wind orchestra by Walter Tuschla. Ad lib. with mixed choir.
