Additional info/contents	Chasing Light is a one-part composition in 3 movements. The work begins with a slow, atmospherically dark introduction in which the most important thematic components are introduced. This is followed by a quick movement, Chasing Light, which incorporates previously heard thematic material. Characteristic of this middle movement is the driving motor movement that drives the hunt mentioned above. An extended euphonium solo bridges the gap to the final movement. Ethereal sounds dominate here. Harp and mallets dominate the sound and symbolize the light that has finally been achieved. The title Chasing Light can be used as a metaphor for the pursuit of a solution to the major problems of today's world, such as: B. the corona pandemic and the climate problem. Chasing Light was commissioned by Stadsfanfaren Izegem under the direction of Hans Demeurisse for the World Music Contest 2022 in Kerkrade.
