Additional info/contents	This piece was commissioned by the Musique Royale des Guides (Belgium), which in 2018 wanted to celebrate an important military event that had taken place in Maldegem 100 years earlier: the Charge de Burkel. On the night of October 18th to 19th, 1918, the German troops near Burkel were forced to retreat by an attack by the 1st Regiment of Guides, which at that time still included cavalry (an optional section with cavalry trumpets is also planned). The episode is considered crucial to the liberation of Belgium at the end of the First World War. Despite its classic form, this march is not like any other, as it mixes the festive character of commemoration, the memory of the battles as well as the heroic character through a magnificent chorale.
