Composer Hahn, Patrick H.
Difficulty level 4+
Evaluation level of countries D4 (German upper level)
Duration 8:11
Additional info/contents Originally planned as an arrangement of Hahn's choral work "Agnus Dei", Motus Agni quickly developed into something much larger. The piece was written specifically for performance in two of Europe's most important churches - St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest - but is also particularly suitable as an effective sound work for the concert hall. The initial theme acts as a foundation and connector between individual thoughts. A fanfare ensemble positioned off to the side and the majestic conclusion reinforce the glorifying idea; However, the quiet final sound makes you sit up and take notice once again: Because the warm light at the end is meant to protect us, not blind us.
The offstage fanfare ensemble should be positioned in such a way that it cannot be noticed or noticed until it is played for the first time. For performances in churches, the organ gallery is recommended; for performances in a concert hall, either the end of the hall opposite the stage or the area behind the stage.
