Additional info/contents Chicago is the 3rd metropole in the United States of America, situated at Lake Michigan. This used to be the home grounds of the Potawatomi tribe. The city was founded in 1830 and has had a turbulent history. A third of the entire city was destroyed on October 9th 1871 during an enormous fire. Also, the city is famous for the 1920 Prohibition and was home of infamous gangsters such as Al Capone and Bugs Moran.
In the beginning of this piece, the composers leads the listener through the city's infamous history. In the second part the square-shaped construction of the city is depicted, the fantastic skyline and its endless straight avenues, that are typical for so many American cities. The third part of the composition starts in an elevator: a superfast escalator takes us to the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building. That's where a fascinating bar is located: the 'Signature Room'. Here one has a tremendous view of the city and Lake Michigan.
In the final part of this piece, the composers grants us one final view of the fabulous city.
