Additional info/contents	Commissioned by Ray Cramer and the Indiana University Wind Ensemble, Alchemy explores the transformation of silence and space. Cast in three connected movements, the work openbs with an extended period of extremely sparse orchestration, gradually gaining mass and momentum to unfold in a blanket of consonant warmth. Mvt. II repeats this architecture, except this time spiraling upward and out of control, until exploding into a relentless, driving final movement.
