Composer Sparke, Philip
Difficulty level 3
Evaluation level of countries C2 (Swiss 3rd class); D3 (German medium level)
Duration 8:30
Additional info/contents The three movements of this suite are based on four traditional folk songs that are known throughout Singapore as children's songs. Together, they create a more contrasting, impressive picture of Singapore than a postcard from this distant country could ever portray. An exotic musical journey on which your audience will be happy to accompany you!

Postcard from Singapore was commissioned by M.A.S.T. Music, Singapore, for a concert featuring Philip Sparke's music when he conducted the Singapore Armed Forces Central Band. The first performance took place on 23rd July 2003.
