Additional info/contents	For the versatile composer Pavel Stanék (*1927), the folklore of his homeland is an essential source of inspiration and of trend-setting importance. One can therefore address "Gloria Sancti" as a piece that is also rooted in the tradition of Stanék's homeland in its balance and intelligibility as well as with its orchestral colours, even if the musical expression corresponds to modern, contemporary musical sensibilities. The catchy main melody of "Gloria Sancti" is introduced by the solo trumpet after a short introduction. Alto saxophone and flugelhorn continue the theme, while the countermelody is heard in tenor saxophone and baritone. The melody now wanders through the registers in different combinations. It is accompanied by various countermelodies and at the same time continues to build up in its sonority until the work's solemn conclusion.
