Additional info/contents	Sinfonia V was composed in the summer of 1973. Although the work is through-composed, Broege labels each section as a separate movement. The first, Prelude, is perhaps the most conventional sounding. The second, Rag, begins with a solo trumpet playing an originally composed melody. This straightforward melody receives many contrapuntal twists eventually eliding into the jagged third movement. The fourth, Chorale, incorporates two chorales by Samuel Scheidt, Herr Jesu Christ, du höchstes Gut and O grosser Gott von Macht. The rag returns near the end of the movement, introduced first by the diminutive but insistent E-flat clarinet. The sixth movement might by the wildest of all with all sorts of melodies and special effects. Movement seven employs a 12th century hymn and a Pavane by Pierre Attaignant. score USD 25
