A harmonious sound landscape is created through the use of delicate pastel tones from the woodwinds and strong accents from the brass. Here Gäble uses the expressive means of brass music to emphasize the beauty and integrity of nature. The gentle sounds symbolize the original harmony between people and the environment. The second section, "Progress-Progress," takes a dramatic turn and reflects the dangers of uncontrolled progress. The musical system becomes more intense and points to the endangerment and destruction of all the livelihoods of people and nature.
