Additional info/contents	Sublime fanfares invite you into the mountains and describe the beauty of a mountain hike with all its danger and splendor. Valleys, alpine pastures and narrow climbs characterize a wonderful experience. The quiet part describes the crystal clear starry night in front of a mountain hut. The whispering of the nature spirits can almost be heard. You think you hear a horn signal from somewhere. In the final part, the descent begins and you arrive back in the valley rich in beautiful natural experiences, accompanied by the introductory fanfares. The work was commissioned by the province of Upper Austria in 1999 and is dedicated to the municipality of Pregarten. Programme notes *: "Alpina Saga" is a fascinating musical composition that tells the story of a mountain hike in the Alps. The description of the piece creates a haunting atmosphere and shows the beauty, but also the challenges of the alpine landscape. The fanfare that sounds down from the mountain lures the hiker and arouses his curiosity. The view up to the majestic peaks makes him feel the beauty and attraction of the mountains. But at the same time, the dangers associated with mountain climbing are pointed out. It becomes clear that the splendour of the mountains can be deceiving and that one should always proceed with caution and respect. The description of a clear night with tangible stars conveys an atmosphere of silence and majesty. The walker is surrounded by the peace and beauty of nature, while the wind and the murmur of nature disturb the sounds of silence. It seems as if nature itself is playing a symphonic melody at this moment. The new day symbolises a new beginning and gives the hiker courage and strength for the descent into the valley. It becomes clear that mountain hiking is a challenge, but can also be a source of inspiration, courage and self-reflection.
