Additional info/contents	This work was commissioned by the Japanese Rokko Verde Wind Orchestra. It describes in a musical way aspects of the beautiful and open home town of the wind orchestra - the city of Kobe, seat of the prefectural administration of Hyogo - but also the hope felt after the Hanshin Awaji earthquake in 1995. Satoshi Yagisawa uses an atmospheric chorale as the cornerstone of the piece, which is written in his recognizably dynamic style. Programme notes *: Kobe is a city in the bay of Osaka in central Japan. It is known for its first-class beef and the beautiful mountain scenery around the harbour. The Ikuta shrine, which dates back to the 3rd century, is one of Japan's oldest Shintō shrines. Ancient gondolas connect Kobe to the mountain Rokkō, which offers a panoramic view of the port. Behind Rokkō are the open-air thermal springs of Arima Onsen. Although Kōbe is not a typical tourist town, there is a lot to see. The Kobe City Museum owns, among other things, an important collection of western art from the time of the trade of Christian missionary work around 1600. Kōbe is known for Arima Onsen, its former foreign settlements (旧居留地, kyū kyoryūchi), Kitano and the Chinatown Nankin-machi, the sake district in Nada and the harbour area with its attractions. Furthermore, the Rokkō mountain range, with an altitude of almost 1000 meters, offers a variety of hiking possibilities with spectacular views of the entire region. In the harbour area of Hyōgo you will find the Kōbe Daibutsu (big Buddha statue) and the historical hiking trail "Street of the harbour Hyōgo" (Hyōgo-tsu no Michi). Further west in Suma there are sandy beaches and the famous Akashi-Kaikyō bridge.
