In 2014 he took leave and bequeathed the premiere of this work "Tableaux sonores" (which means "soundboards, resonance sounds") to the orchestra. The composer was inspired by Robert Schumann's song cycle "Dichterliebe" (love of poets). The titles of the movements are
I. Meeting. The first meeting between the musicians and the conductor
II. Private life. Despite the closeness between the orchestra members, each person also has a distance to it, a private life.
III. Happy high flight. All together, through intensive work, they manage to climb the ladder of success.
IV. Farewell. One thinks back wistfully to the time spent together. But new tasks and new people continue to steer the ship "orchestra".

The term "Tableaux sonores" comes from French and means "sound pictures" or "acoustic paintings". It describes musical works that paint certain scenes, moods or images through their timbre, structure and dynamics. Johannes Stert, a German composer and conductor, has taken up this term in his composition for top-level wind orchestra. His work "Tableaux sonores" consists of four movements, each of which depicts different scenarios and emotions

The term "Tableaux sonores" refers to the ability of music to create visual or emotional images through sound and structure. This technique is often used in program music, where the music tells a story or describes a specific scene. Composers use various musical elements such as melody, harmony, rhythm and instrumentation to create these sound pictures and transport listeners into different moods and scenarios.

Johannes Stert, born in 1963, is a renowned German composer and conductor known for his innovative and versatile compositions. His composition "Tableaux sonores" for top-level wind orchestra is an outstanding example of the implementation of the term in music. The four movements of the work each represent different moods and scenarios, which are impressively expressed through their specific musical design.

1. Rencontre (Very passionate and brilliant): This first movement represents a passionate and brilliant encounter. The music is characterized by intense and dynamic passages that capture the energy and excitement of a first encounter. Fast runs, powerful chords and lively rhythms dominate this section and create a sense of drama and movement.

2.Intimité (Waltz): The second movement is a waltz that represents intimacy and closeness. The calm, swinging rhythm of the waltz and the soft, lyrical melodies convey an atmosphere of tenderness and intimacy. This movement contrasts strongly with the first through its gentleness and graceful elegance.

3. Joyeux vertige (Burlesque, very light): The third movement has a burlesque, very light mood. This part of the work is playful and humorous, with fast, bouncy rhythms and a light, almost jocular melody. The music seems to dance and jump, conveying the image of happy frenzy and exuberant merriment.

4. L'adieu (Slowly flowing, singingly very soft): The fourth and final movement, "L'adieu", is sung slowly, flowing and very softly. This passage expresses farewell, with melancholic and gentle melodies that convey a sense of wistfulness and calm. The slow tempos and soft, soulful lines create an atmosphere of reflection and silent farewell.

"Tableaux sonores" by Johannes Stert is a striking example of using music to paint visual and emotional pictures. The four movements of the work represent different scenarios and moods that come to life through their specific musical design. Through the skilful use of melody, harmony, rhythm and instrumentation, Stert succeeds in transporting listeners to various emotional landscapes and offering a multi-layered and profound musical experience. This work impressively shows how music can be used as a medium to represent and convey emotions and scenarios.
