Additional info/contents	Der 122. Psalm Laetatus sum (Ich freute mich) preist als Wallfahrtslied die Heilige Stadt Jerusalem. Als Bestandteil der Marienvesper diente er zahllosen Komponisten als Textvorlage. Auch der am Übergang von Hochrenaissance zu Frühbarock wirkende protestantische Musiker Melchior Franck vertonte diesen Davidspsalm. Seine Komposition orientiert sich an der doppelchörigen Satzstruktur italienischer Meister, die sich auch nördlich der Alpen großer Beliebtheit erfreute. Die Motette atmet die freudige Aufbruchsstimmung der Textvorlage, die gleich zu Beginn durch den ausgelassenen Charakter des Dreier-Metrums zum Ausdruck kommt.
