So auch hier: 5 Akkordeons spielen, unter Orchesterbegleitung, als Solostimme renaissanceartige Fragmente. This three-part suite is rich in dances and full of contrasting styles and dynamics. The title of the work is a pun on the term 'concerto grosso', a piece in parts for a group of solo instruments and orchestra. In 'Contrasto Grosso' small groups in the band perform as soloists, interpreting contrasting renaissance style fragments. Composee par Jacob de Haan, cette suite constituee de trois mouvements est remarquable par ses nuances et par la richesse de ses airs de danses aux styles contrastes. Le titre de la piece met en evidence ces contrastes a travers le detournement du terme concerto grosso. Celui-ci designe une suite opposant le gros de l'orchestre et un groupe de solistes, comme Contrasto Grosso, ou des membres de l'orchestre jouent en solo par petits groupes. Questa suite in tre sezioni e ricca di balli e piena di contrasti nello stile e nelle dinamiche. II titolo dell'opera e un gioco di parole sul termine 'concerto grosso', un brano in parti per un gruppo di strumenti solisti e orchestra. In Contrasto grosso, piccoli gruppi all'interno dell'orchestra si esibiscono come solisti. Nelle tre sezioni questi gruppi solisti interpretano contrastanti frammenti musicali in stile rinascimentale. Deze dansrijke suite bestaat uit drie delen, die alle worden gekenmerkt door contrasten in stijl en dynamiek. De titel van de compositie is een woordspeling op het concerto grosso, een meerdelig werk voor een groep solo- instrumenten en orkest. De fragmenten in het uit drie delen bestaande werk worden gekenmerkt door een renaissanceachtige stijl.
