Programme notes *: In his compositions tor symphonic wind band, the composer Otto M. Schwarz always uses traces ot other styles. In the works For the Next Thousand, Millennium or Asteroid, he used musical sketches treated with a movie-like technique, whereas in Jazz Waltz No.1 he turned to a big band sound. In all cases, however, he makes an effort to maintain the wind band's symphonic sound. Jazz Waltz No.1 is a piece with a catchy melody and a typical 3/4 time swing accompaniment.
