What is on your table today? May we invite you to stuffed capons or baked pigeons? Before that a root soup and for dessert couloured hollow berries, lemon puree or rather a jelly of redcurrants? Today we dive into the table culture of the 18th century. And the music to go with it is provided by the man who gave his name to our programme: Starting in 1733, Valentin Rathgeber published his "Ohren vergnügendes und Gemüt ergötzendes Tafel-Confect" in Augsburg, a collection of humorous songs and lyrics.

Kurt Rehfeld, a renowned arranger and composer for wind orchestras, has masterfully reinterpreted these historical melodies and arranged them for modern wind orchestras. His adaptation of the "Augsburger Tafel-Confekt" brings the timeless beauty and charm of these melodies into today's musical repertoire.

Overall, Kurt Rehfeld's adaptation of the "Augsburger Tafel-Confekt" is a fascinating and entertaining journey into the world of baroque music. His sensitive interpretation of these historical melodies brings the magic and beauty of the 17th century into the modern wind orchestra repertoire, offering listeners an unforgettable musical experience.
