Additional info/contents	"A Cool Six" is a small homage to Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck. Two giants of jazz who revolutionised jazz music after the Second World War. Miles Davis with his modes, harmonies and melody lines (what we call Cool Jazz today) and Dave Brubeck with his unusual time signatures. "A Cool Six" combines the ideas of both men. A simple melody that alternates between E major and E minor in 6/4 time, but retains all the characteristics of big band swing music. The title of the piece is a reference to Davis' album "Birth of the Cool" (1957) and Brubeck's record "Time Out" (1959). Both albums were the inspiration for this piece.
