Programme notes *: Susato's music with its simple and clear melody lines is also suitable in modern rhythmic forms as a form of finer entertainment. This arrangement emphasizes that percussion instruments (such as drums, tambourines and cymbals) were also used in the Renaissance - especially to support dance. In the field of popular music of the early 16th century new genres were spread, later developments led to important instrumental forms such as "sonar singing", which would later influence the Baroque period. The aim of this transcription is to recreate the sound atmosphere of that time, to reinterpret the songs that were intended for entertainment in an original form. Accordingly, they have been rhythmically changed in a modern and functional way. The pedagogical level of this arrangement is that "early music" can still "function" in connection with modern rhythms and especially appeals to young people in their music-making.
