The conductor hears the clicks via headphones, which indicate in time with 6 clicks when the orchestra should start. Three clicks for the conductor, then 3 clicks for the orchestra to use. Modern technology makes it possible. The music is set up for a large symphonic wind orchestra and requires a large instrumentation including harp, piano, double bass, etc...
