Programme notes *: This overture describes a walk in the mountains of Fiss. About 250 metres above Fiss there is a beautiful natural monument called the Fisser Gonde. The first part of the piece is very rhythmic with slight time changes, the middle part is introduced with a very lyrical solo trumpet - this theme is then processed in various instrumental groups of the wind orchestra. This theme is then processed in various instrumental groups of the wind orchestra. After the slow part (the Gonde), it goes back very rhythmically into the valley to Fiss.
