Programme notes *: The composition Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is based on the 1886 novel The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894). Good and evil in man. In this famous story Stevenson describes the case of the scientist Dr. Jekyll, who manages to separate the bad part of his being from himself and make it his own person.
