Programme notes *: additional text

Strizzi (from Czech strıc 'uncle') is an expression from Viennese and stands, among other things, as a term of endearment for boy, with the connotation of rascal, rogue.
Tango is a musical style and originated as a melange of many musical forms between 1850 and 1900: from the confrontation of European musical styles (Italian music, Polish polka, etc.) with Latin American music (milonga, habanera) and African rhythms (candombe).
The "Strizzi Tango" was created at the request of the children of the Mini Band Sieghartskirchen in 2012. They have always described themselves as real Strizzies (rascals). "Write us a piece called Strizzi" was the wish of the children.
