Additional info/contents	In 1880 Edvard Grieg composed a song cycle for soprano voice and piano. Somewhat later he arranged the two songs 'Heart Wounds' and 'Last Spring' from this collection for string orchestra under the title: Two Elegiac Melodies Opus 34. The deep melancholy of the poems gives this music a somewhat dark but magnificent tone. The pieces can be performed independently of each other.
