Programme notes *: "Paradise of Gaze" was commissioned by Jugendblasmusik Katzldorf on the occasion of the 2011 autumn concert entitled "Austria 9", in which all nine Austrian provinces were to be visited, but for Lower Austria and the homeland around Katzelsdorf the orchestra still needed the right piece. The composition itself is a compact, small-scale image of the European Alpine arc and its symbolic landscape pattern. The Alps begin here for the Viennese - original, in great variety, in impressive landscapes: the gentle hills of the Bucklige Welt, the alpine pastures at Wechsel, the Semmering and Reichenau, world-famous for the Semmeringbahn, which bears the title UNESCO Cultural Heritage, and much more. - in short, a "paradise of glances".
