In his work "Call of the Buffalo", the renowned composer Gerald Oswald takes us into a fascinating world in which the dance and song of the medicine man Buffalo fill the vastness of the prairie. The piece for young orchestras in the elementary level, which is about gratitude and the survival of a tribe, is a tribute to the imaginary medicine man Buffalo.

Gerald Oswald's composition features a haunting and stirring portrayal of the ceremony in which the tribe expresses its gratitude to Buffalo. The sounds of the drums combine with the chants of the medicine man to create a powerful and spiritual symphony that illustrates the tribe's connection with nature and its life-giving power. The medicine man Buffalo plays a central role in the ceremony. His chants are full of power and expression, telling of the ancient wisdom and magic of the prairies. Oswald's musical interpretation of these chants lends the composition an authentic and at the same time timeless atmosphere that captivates the listener.

The sounds of the drums, which resound in unison with the chants, create a stirring rhythm that sets the listeners in motion. It is as if you can feel the heartbeat of the tribe as they dance and sing in unity with nature. The music captures this harmonious symbiosis in an impressive way and conveys a deep understanding of the connection between man and nature.

With his work, Gerald Oswald succeeds in capturing the essence of the ceremony and gives the audience a unique insight into the culture and gratitude of the tribe. The music touches the soul and reminds us how important it is to act with respect and mindfulness towards nature and the gifts it offers us.
