Een groots opgezet internationaal trombonefestival bood vervolgens onderdak aan de wereldpremiere: Slide Factory 2007 in Rotterdam, georganiseerd door het Nieuw Trombone Collectief, de best denkbare ambassadeurs van de hedendaagse trombonecultuur. Het ontstaandsproces van Canticles is een uiterst inspirerende ervaring geweest.
