Programme notes *: This work was written at the suggestion of Gerhard Forman, the youth advisor of the Lower Austrian Wind Music Association. He wanted opening music for the Lower Austrian Wind Philharmonic that was tailor-made for the orchestra. Accordingly, the music sounds dynamic and powerful. A fanfare opens the musical round and prepares the listener for the main theme. Its rhythms move it forward dynamically. A small chorale allows the listener to pause briefly and recharge his batteries, for it continues with power and energy. The opening fanfare rounds off the work and leads to an impressive climax.
