This work - especially at the beginning - reminds the listener of the days of knights and heroes. The introduction is heroic in character: it launches a hymn that is gradually taken over by the band. The cheerful atmosphere of this composition symbolizes the beauty of South Tyrol and the hospitality of the city of Bruneck, a place where on can easily feel at home.

Bruneck is a town and a municipality in South Tyrol in northern Italy. The name Bruneck is most likely due to the founder of the town, the prince-bishop of Brixen, Bruno von Kirchberg. Although there is no official foundation document, there is no field name or other reference in the area that could lead to Bruneck. It was also he who had the town's landmark, Bruneck Castle, built. The town itself was founded in the second half of the 13th century and completed by his successors after Bruno's death in 1288, without it being possible to trace its development precisely. It was not until 1336 that the city walls and moat were completed under Bishop Albert I of Enn. The first church within the city walls (initially only a small chapel) was built by Bruneck citizen Niklas Stuck below the castle "am Rain", today's Rainkirche. Heinrich von Stuck, Niklas' brother, donated the Holy Spirit Hospital in 1358, which was built in the following years. The episcopal administrative seat was moved from Aufhofen to Bruneck.
