Additional info/contents Slowly the day dawns over the "Lacus Felix", the happy lake, as the Traunsee in the heart of the Salzkammergut was once called. Only hesitantly the contours of the lake castle Orth stand out from the darkness of the mighty Traunstein at dawn. This often only so short silence tempts the observer to pause and let the history of this jewel pass in his mind. The lake splashes quietly under the bridge that connects the mainland with the sea castle, one hears a morning prayer of Patris from the chapel in one's mind, and soon afterwards this beautiful building shines in its full splendour. The hustle and bustle begins, but there is still time to indulge in the past, to think of the love affairs of the castle owners, but also of catastrophes such as floods or the great fire that completely destroyed the lake castle, or of a governor, the cruel Duke Herbersdorf, the "inventor" of the Frankenburg dice game. The event concludes with a cheerful folk dance by the servants, bringing the observer from the past back to reality, to the present of a media castle hotel, hundreds of tourists armed with digital cameras and weekly wedding marathons. Thus, the Seeschloss was and is probably always a place of encounter, busy activity and probably the most beautiful castle in Austria.
