Additional info/contents	Cemaraf ist die Abkürzung der Namen der Widmungsträger dieses Werkes - Cécile und Martin Affolter-Spitteler. Es besteht aus 3 selbständigen Teilen besteht. I. Zu einer Dudelsack ähnlichen Quinte des Violoncellos spielen die Flöten eine einfache Melodie, die nach einem Vogelgezwitscher in durch Verziehrungen belebter Form wiederkehrt. Über einer Ostinatofigur des Cellos entwickelt sich ein schnellerer Teil, der in einer an den Anfang erinnernden Stimmung endet. II. Die beiden übergeordneten Intervalle (Sekunde und Quarte) werden in einer ruhigen Einleitung exponiert. Die Flöten gehen spielerisch mit den beiden Intervallen um, bis ein Allegro mit durchgehenden Sechzehntelnoten zu einer heftigen Klangballung führt. Am Schluss werden die beiden Intervalle in verkürzter Form im Pianissimo angedeutet. III. Nach einem melodischen Flötenduo, komponiert mit Elementen aus 3 verschiedenen Tonreihen, folgen 4 kurze kontrastierende Motive. In den ersten drei sind drei verschiedene Spielarten des Violoncellos zu hören (ponticello, pzzicato und arco normale). Das vierte Motiv besteht aus einer raschen Tonfolge der ersten Flöte. Diese bleibt nach einer knappen Durchführung allein im Raum stehen. Die Anfangsmelodie wird mit dem vierten Motiv kombiniert. Das Werk verhallt im Nichts. Jost Meier Basel, Schweiz 20. März 2009 Cemaraf is the abbreviation of the dedicatees name - Cécile and Martin Affolter-Spitteler. The work is conceived in three independent parts. I. The flutes play a simple melody that is repeated over and over in increasingly animated ornamented form and juxtaposed over a sort of drone-type bagpipe effect produced by the violoncello. A rapid passage over a violoncello ostinato figure comprises the reprise the initial mood as the first part ends. II. Two superimposed intervals (second and fourth) are used within a quiet introduction. The flutes then perform a juggling act with these two intervals before merging into an Allegro of continuing sixteenth notes which develops into to a cumulative sound. At the end, the two intervals are suggested in reduced form within pianissimo. III. A flute duo consisting of elements of three series of notes is followed by four brief contrasting motives. In the first three, the violoncello is played with three different bowings (ponticello, pizzicato and arco normale). The fourth motive consists of a sequence of fast repeated notes played by the first flute. After a quick exposure, this one flutist remains alone in movement. The melody of the beginning is then combined with the fourth motive and the piece fades into nothingness. Elle est constituée de trois parties indépendantes. I. Les flûtes, sur une sorte de quinte de cornemuse donnée au violoncelle, jouent une mélodie simple qui se répète en s'animant progressivement avec des ornementations en gazouillis. Une partie rapide se développe ensuite sur une figure Ostinato du violoncelle, qui se termine comme une réminiscence de l'ambiance initiale. II. Les deux intervalles superposés (seconde et quarte) sont exposés dans une introduction tranquille. Les flûtes jonglent avec ces deux intervalles jusqu'à ce qu'un Allegro en double croches continues mène à un cumulus sonore. En conclusion, les deux intervalles sont suggérés sous forme réduite dans la nuance pianissimo. III. Après un duo de flûtes composé d'éléments de trois séquences de notes, suivent 4 motifs contrastés et brefs. Dans les trois premiers, le violoncelle s'exprime de trois façons différentes (ponticello, pizzicato et arco normale). Le quatrième motif est une séquence de notes rapide à la première flûte.
