Additional info/contents	Diese Suite habe ich meiner unvergesslichen Grossmutter Varsenik Kevorkian Ter-Davtian gewidmet. Die ersten drei Sätze wurden am 15. und 16. Juli 1978 geschrieben in Dilijan, einer touristischen Ortschaft in Armenien, woher auch einige berühmte Komponisten stammen. Der vierte Satz entstand im September desselben Jahres in Yerewan, die endgültige Fassung des Werks im Frühling 1980. Das Stück wurde von einem armenischen Bläserquintett bestellt, das allerdings noch vor der Uraufführung aufgelöst wurde wegen dem plötzlichen Tod seines Leaders. Die Premiere fand erst sieben Jahre später statt, in Riga, Hauptstadt Lettlands, mit dem Bläserquintett des Sinfonieorchesters Riga. Alexandre Arutiunian, Yerewan, Mai 2007 I dedicated this Suite to the memory of my unforgettable Granny Varsenik Kevorkian Ter-Davtian. The first three movements were written on July 15-16 1978 in Dilijan, a resort and home town of many famous composers in Armenia. The fourth movement was composed in Yerevan in September of the same year. In the spring of 1980 I have produced the final edition of the work. The piece was commissioned by and written for an armenian woodwind quintet which disbanded before the first performance due to the passing of its leader. The somewhat belated premiere took place in 1987 in Riga, capital of Latvia, by the woodwind quintet of the Riga Symphony Orchestra. Les trois premiers mouvements ont été écrits les 15 et 16 juillet 1978 à Dilijan, une station touristique d'Arménie et villégiature de compositeurs renommés. Le quatrième mouvement a été composé à Yerevan en septembre de cette même année et la version définitive de l'oeuvre fut réalisée au printemps 1980. Cette pièce a été commandée et écrite pour un quintette à vent arménien qui fut dissout suite au décès de son chef, avant que l'oeuvre ne soit jouée. La première n'a été réalisée que sept ans plus tard à Riga, la capitale de la Lettonie, par le quintette à vent de l'Orchestre Symphonique de Riga.
