Additional info/contents	'Eccentric Danses' wurde vom Schweizer Tubisten Remo Capra beauftragt. Der Idee, 'Tänze' für Tuba zu schreiben, war nicht zu widerstehen. Sie ermöglichen dem tiefsten unter den Blechblas-instrumenten, seine Expressivität und Virtuosität zur Schau zu stellen. Das Eigenschaftswort 'exzentrisch' verspricht dem Interpreten und Zuhörer, die Tuba in unüblichen Ausdrucksformen zu hören. Die Tänze sind unbetitelt, deren Temperament und Klima werden aber am Anfang angegeben. 1. Ponderous/impudent alterniert in Dialogform kühne, agressive Behauptungen mit leichteren, unverschämten Antworten. 2. Insouciant - leicht, flink, tanzend 3. Spooky, beinflusst vom Halloweenfest, alterniert sanfte, abgerundete Phrasen mit stürmischen Ausrufen. 4. Con ritmo latino ermöglicht dem Tubisten, der sich selbst begleitet (die unbetonten Takte mit Fuss schlagend) zu zeigen was er mit diesen Latin Rhythmen und Melodien anfangen kann. 5. Bluesy fängt träge an, steigert sich dann energisch und fordert guten Sinn für Jazzrhythmen. 6. Slowly, declamatory - eine Deklamation, die abrupt in einen schnellen, synkopierten, mit lyrischen Passagen abwechselnden Teil führt. 'Eccentric Dances' was commissioned by Swiss tuba soloist Remo Capra. The idea of 'dances' for tuba was irresistible, giving the lowest brass instrument a chance to show off its expressive versatility and technical agility. The 'eccentric' adjective promises the performer and listener the chance to hear the tuba in some unusual musical settings. The movements are unnamed, but the key to the mood of each 'dance' is given by an indication at the beginning. 1. The first is labeled ponderous/impudent, which alternates bold, aggressive statements with lighter, sassier responses in a quasi-dialogue effect. Movement 2 is insouciant - nimble, agile, light-hearted, dance-like in character. Halloween may have influenced movement 3, spooky, as soft, angular phrases alternate with violent interjections. In movement 4, con ritmo latino, the tubist (accompanied by himself toe-tapping offbeats) has to show what he can do with some lively Latin rhythms and melodic lines. Bluesy, movement 5, starts off lazily, but picks up in energy, requiring some agile leaps to jazzy rhythms. The last movement - slowly, declamatory begins as a declamation, then moves abruptly into a fast, syncopated section that alternates with more lyrical passages. 'Eccentric Danses' a été commandé par le tubiste suisse Remo Capra. L'idée de 'dances' pour tuba est irrésistible, donnant au plus grave des instruments de cuivres l'occasion de montrer ses qualités expressives et techniques. L' adjectif 'excentrique' promet à l'interprète et à l'auditeur d'entendre le tuba dans des formes musicales peu courantes. Les dances ne sont pas nommées, le tempérament de chacune étant défini par une indication. 1. Spooky a été influencé par la fête de Halloween où les phrases douces et anguleuses sont ponctuées par de violentes interjections. 4. Con ritmo latino est une occasion pour le tubiste (qui s'accompagne en tapant les temps faibles du pied) de montrer ce qu'il sait faire avec les rytmes et mélodies latines. 5. Bluesy commence paresseusement mais gagne en énergie, exigeant de bonnes dispositions pour les rythmes jazz. 6.
