Additional info/contents	Not far from the composer's hometown (Lengstein in South Tyrol) lies the legendary "Hexenbödele". According to the old legend, the witches met there at midnight to dance wildly. This fantasy sets to music the story of the overconfident servant who ventured there at that hour on the basis of a bet. As soon as he arrives, he sees the witches slowly arriving. Soon they begin their dance, and the poor lad is completely captivated by it. Soon, however, the witches smell the uninvited guest who has become careless. After a short search, they drag him into their midst. Paralysed by shock, the young man cannot defend himself. The witches, driven by wild rage, soon beat and stomp him into the ground until only his imprint remains. After the deed was done, the witches disappeared into the forest again. The servant himself was never seen again!
