Additional info/contents	Ausgangspunkt für 'Stabat Mater' war das gleichnamige Werk von Palestrina, dessen überwältigende und doch zurückgehaltene Traurigkeit die Komponistin tief berührt hat. Mit der Sopranstimme aus Palestrinas Werk ist seriell gearbeitet. Das Ergebnis ist ein tonal - atonaler Widerspruch. Aufgrund dieses Konflikts in der Tonspra-che klingen die tonalen Töne manchmal wie 'blue notes'. Die Anweisung ist daher auch, im Stil eines 'negro spiritual' zu singen. Mittelschwer.
