Additional info/contents A stimulating collection of unique concepts for teaching and conducting from 57 of today's most outstanding music educators. Contains to-the-point, thought-provoking ideas that have been tried and tested by master conductors. Problem-solving tips, philosophical concepts and ensemble-building skills - all in one easy-to-read collection. An ideal source of exciting strategies for all levels of ensembles. Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the American Music Conference.

Monitoring pitch accuracy of players in a large ensemble is especially difficult when rehearsal time is often limited. How then can we measure the pitch matching abilities of each player in our group? Does this sound like a daunting task? It doesn't have to be. Try this recipe for assessing your students' intonation skills.

Make sure the instruments are well warmed up before using this procedure. Players should be able to play some basic scales and recognise and perform different intervals within the scale.

Suitable for all instrumental and vocal students.
