Additional info/contents	Michael Colgrass created one of the most enduring works for wind ensemble when he wrote this compelling 25 minute piece in 1985. Commissioned by the New England Conservatory Wind Ensemble, it is dedicated to the man who was their director at the time, Frank Battisti. The music is colorful and uses a rich, unusual and large assemblage of winds (no oboes, no bassoons, except for contrabassoon), brass and extensive percussion instruments to convey the dark and often entrancing visions the author had under the tutelage of the formidable sorcerer. A great and amazing work for winds that has never lost its power to astonish, Winds of Nagual is a cornerstone of the wind ensemble repertoire.
