Additional info/contents	When Jan Van der Roost composed Spartacus, he did not explicitly intend to write programmatic music, which is why no particular story is pursued or expressed in the composition. However, the listener will recognise the impressive atmosphere of the great monumental films such as Ben Hur, Quo Vadis and Spartacus. From a musical-technical point of view, Spartacus has a rather complicated score that makes great demands on all performers, both in terms of virtuosity and rhythm.
