Another fact represented by this number is that this overture makes the two thousandth work published by "Molenaars Muziekcentrale" since its foundation in 1933. "Ouverture 2000" was written to commemorate this occasion and it is dedicated to the Molenaar family. The music displays a pithy, festive and dynamic character. The opening fanfare is succeeded by a vast and virtuoso movement in which a "pull-out of all stops" of the various windband registers can be heard.
