Jadin, a contemporary of Ludwig van Beethoven and an important representative of classical music, created a significant addition to the military music repertoire with this work. The arrangement of this work for modern wind orchestra by the Dutch arranger Jan Molenaar has helped to make the composition accessible to a wider audience and to preserve its historical and musical significance.
