Brazil is a melting pot of several human races: among the ancesestors of the Brazilians were negros, indians, whites and even Chinese. This mixture often produced really beautiful men and woman with various musical gifts. the rythm of the negroes, the melancholy of the indians and the elaborate harmonics of the whites.

Part 1: "Pássaros Colorides" (Multicoloured Birds)
Sometimes the composer uses this title literally by imitating some amazonebird by means of an ocarina (or pan flute).

Part 2: "Pomba Triste" (Sad Pigeon)
This music makes us think of girls dancing the samba; the carnival does not necessarly mean pleasure to them, but it is rather a source of income. The composer used a bossa nova rythm.

Part 3: "Os Pássaros no Carnaval" (The Carnival Birds)
This is a lively samba we know so well from the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro. The "Carnival Birds" and the typical samba rythm leading to a spontaneous melody sung by all carnival goers.
