Additional info/contents Nyx was the goddess of the night - one of the most ancient goddesses, respected even by Zeus. This piece depicts the role she played in the creation of the world, the generation of life and the formation of the four essential elements - fire, water, air and earth.

About the performance: In order to be able to bring the complex form of the composition with its mystical effect really convincingly, conductor and musician need a lot of empathy and creativity. Only when all the effects are convincingly played and the tempos are taken almost seriously can a red thread be found right down to the last bar.

Nyx, the goddess of the night in Greek mythology, embodies the darkness and peace that comes with the night. This mythical figure has not only captured the imagination of poets and artists, but has also inspired musicians. Her mysterious and powerful presence finds expression in the music of various eras and styles, serving as a symbol of calm, mystery and the deep emotions of the night.

Nyx is one of the oldest deities in Greek mythology and is directly descended from Chaos. She is the mother of many personified concepts such as Hypnos (Sleep), Thanatos (Death) and Eris (Discord). Her role as the goddess of the night makes her a symbolic figure for the mysterious and the unknown. In ancient art, Nyx is often depicted as a majestic woman with a star-spangled cloak, bringing darkness and peace.

Music has always reflected people's deep and complex emotions, and Nyx, as a symbol of night and darkness, has inspired numerous musicians. Her connection to night and the feelings associated with it can be found in various musical genres and eras.

In classical music, night is often the focus of compositions inspired by Nyx. One example is Frédéric Chopin's "Nocturnes," which are musical representations of night and capture the tranquility, mysteries, and dreams of the night. While Chopin does not directly mention Nyx, his works reflect the emotional depth associated with the nighttime atmosphere.

Nyx's influence is also felt in opera. In the works of composers such as Richard Wagner and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, night is often used as a backdrop for dramatic and emotional scenes. In Wagner's "Die Walküre," night plays a major role in the plot, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and mystery.

In contemporary music, numerous examples of Nyx inspiration can be found. Musicians and composers use the symbolism of night to explore themes such as loneliness, mystery, and introspective journeys. Artists such as Ludovico Einaudi and Max Richter compose pieces that capture the nighttime atmosphere and the tranquility of darkness.

Nyx's influence also extends to pop culture and film music. In many soundtracks, night is represented musically to create certain moods and emotions:
- Film score composers such as Hans Zimmer and John Williams use nighttime themes to enhance the mood and atmosphere in films. In films such as "Inception" and "Interstellar," night is represented through musical themes that create both tranquility and tension.
- In pop and rock music, night often serves as a metaphor for personal and emotional journeys. Songs such as "Night" by Bruce Springsteen and "Nights in White Satin" by The Moody Blues use nighttime imagery to convey deep emotional experiences.

Nyx, the goddess of the night, has left a diverse and profound impact in music. Her connection to the darkness, silence and mysteries of the night provides a rich source of inspiration for composers and musicians. From classical music to opera to modern film music and pop culture, Nyx's presence in music reflects humanity's universal fascination with the night and its deep, emotional levels. The goddess of the night remains a timeless symbol of the creative and introspective power of darkness in music.
