Additional info/contents	The piece challenges conductors and musicians in several ways: the composition does not move in traditional cadential harmony, but over ostinato cadential fields; the three themes are laid out in symmetrical periods.The demands on instrumental technique remain limited, but the musicians should intonate with sharp ears, otherwise some four-notes could give the impression that they are "wrong". The conductor's wind orchestra of the Federal Academy for Musical Youth Education has premiered and recorded the composition. It confirmed the impression that this work is a piece of music of a new conception that compels attentive listening. Horn players find a rewarding solo task; if there is no trained horn player, the tenor player takes over his part. The music does not suffer any loss of substance if the oboe and bassoon are not present, but timpani should be present. The piece was composed on behalf of the Federal Association of German Wind and Folk Music Associations for the bands of the intermediate level.

Programme notes *: The term "Moment Musical" (German: musical moment) refers to a short, characteristic piece of music that is often composed for piano. The term was first used by Franz Schubert, who composed six Moment Musicaux for piano. These pieces are very well known and popular today and are among the most important works of romantic piano music. A moment musical is typically a piece that expresses a particular musical character or mood. It is often short and focuses on a single musical idea or theme. The form of the moment musical can vary greatly, but often follows an ABA form in which a theme or melody is presented in a first part, followed by a contrasting part and finally a repetition of the first part. The moment musical is closely related to the character piece, another musical genre that also includes short, characteristic pieces of music. Character pieces are often programmatic and attempt to create a particular mood or atmosphere, such as a walk in the woods or a dance. The Moment Musical has established itself as a very popular and influential genre in piano music and has been taken up and further developed by many composers. In addition to Schubert, other composers such as Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Grieg also composed moment musicaux.
