Additional info/contents “Hagzissa” (the title comes from the Old German word for witch) is a concert piece that is dedicated to various aspects of the witch cult in four shorter movements. The sentences are titled as follows:
1. "In the Witch's Forest": In this introductory part, the main theme, which runs through all movements, is immediately introduced. The atmosphere is dark and mystical.
2. "In the witch's kitchen": This humorous part comes from the clichéd idea of how the witch brews her magic potions at the cauldron. Various exotic ingredients and numerous failed attempts accompany the machinations.
3. “The Herbal Witch”: This quiet, lovely part describes the so-called “good witch,” who helps people regain their health thanks to her herbalism and healing knowledge.
4. “The Broom Ride” again plays with a cliché, namely that of flying witches who meet at midnight to dance wildly. Here you become an observer of such a scene.

Witches and music have a complex and fascinating connection throughout history. While witches have often been portrayed as dark figures of fear and superstition throughout time, they also have a deep relationship with music, which has been interpreted differently in different cultures and eras.

- Magical rituals and chants: In many cultures, witches have been associated with magical rituals and chants. These rituals, often accompanied by rhythmic drumming, singing and dancing, were intended to summon or manipulate powers. Music played a central role in these practices as it was seen as a means of contacting the supernatural.

- Witch Dances and Sabbath: In folklore and superstition, witches were often associated with nightly gatherings and dances known as Sabbath. These events were described as wild and orgiastic festivals where witches communicated with demons and other supernatural beings. Music and dance were integral to these ritual acts and served to place participants in a trance and blur the boundaries between the physical and spiritual worlds.

- Musical interpretation in art: The connection between witches and music has also inspired artists and composers. There are numerous examples in music history of pieces inspired by witches, magic and supernatural phenomena. Composers such as Hector Berlioz with his "Symphonie fantastique" or Carl Orff with his work "Carmina Burana" incorporated elements of witchcraft and occult practices into their music.

- Modern influence: The fascination with witches and music remains in modern pop culture and art. Films, books and pieces of music often take up motifs of witches and their mystical world, be it in the form of dark soundtracks, psychedelic rock music or experimental soundscapes.

Overall, the connection between witches and music is a rich and complex theme that is deeply rooted in human culture. While witches are often viewed as a symbol of the uncanny and the unknown, their relationship to music is also interpreted as an expression of the human longing for spirituality, transcendence and connection with the supernatural.
