Its premiere performance was February 7, 1984 by the Merrillville, IN, High School Symphonic Band and was originally entitled "Festive Episode". This overture begins triumphantly and offers opportunities for trumpets, horns, percussion, clarinets, trombones and saxophones to be featured. This is a sure contest selection for the high school level.
