Additional info/contents Earth - Fire - Water - Air: these four elements are the elements of life. Without them, life would not exist in any form. They shape our way of looking at things, affect our thoughts and determine our feelings. The classification of our cosmos into the four basic elements is probably one of the oldest princips of mankind, and these elements are deeply embedded in the human psyche. According to the ancient tradition of the Greek philosophers, each of the elements has its own particular attributes. All other substances in nature are said to have energed from these elements. All creatures, including human beings, consist of all four elements, which shape their senses. In fact, the elements are able to balance out body and soul.
The Suite "Elements of Nature" comprises four movements, each movement corresponding to one of the elements.
"Dances of Fire:" Savage, occult, dangerous - Fire signifies the will of man.
"The Circle of Water": Flowingly, endless, mighty - Water sums up the feelings of human beings.
"Planet Earth:" Structured, material, fertile - Earths stand for the awareness of the self.
"Air - The Spirit of Life:" Stirring, altering, sensual - Air signifies human intellect.
In the Suite there is a main motif combining the female elements (Earth and Water) with the male elements (Fire and Air). The four movements are also linked to each other by their motifs. A majestic prologue and an epilogue "frame" the suite.

The connection between the four elements - earth, water, air and fire - and music is a fascinating meditation that is deeply rooted in human creativity and cultural imagination. These elements have always had symbolic meaning and have been revered in many cultures as the fundamental building blocks of nature and life. They find expression in music in diverse and inspiring ways.

1. The earth represents stability, foundation and down-to-earthness. In music, this element often manifests itself through deep, powerful sounds and rhythms that provide a solid foundation and anchoring. Percussion instruments such as drums, timpani, and bass instruments such as double bass or tuba can emphasize the earthy qualities of the music and provide a physical presence that brings the listener down to earth.

2. Water - symbolizes movement, flow and emotion. In music, this can be expressed through flowing melodies, gentle harmonies and dynamic variations. Playing string instruments such as violin or cello can capture the flowing properties of water, while piano or harp sounds can have a gentle, calming effect. The water element in music can also be represented through the use of ripple effects, flowing arpeggios, and wave movements in rhythm.

3. Air stands for freedom, lightness and movement. In music, the element of air is often embodied by melodic lines suspended in the air and light, floating harmonies. Woodwind instruments such as flute, clarinet and oboe can emphasize the airy qualities of the music and create a light, floating atmosphere. Using pizzicato techniques on string instruments or glockenspiels can also provide a feeling of lightness and airiness.

4. Fire symbolizes passion, energy and intensity. In music, the fire element can be expressed through powerful rhythms, dynamic climaxes and passionate melodies. Instruments such as trumpet, trombone and drums can emphasize the fiery qualities of the music and create an energetic, powerful atmosphere. Fast tempos, virtuoso passages and intense harmonies can also ignite the fire of music.

In many musical works, several of these elements can be present simultaneously, complementing and reinforcing each other to create a layered and dynamic experience. The connection between the four elements and music is a rich source of inspiration, allowing composers to explore and express a wide range of emotions, moods and sonic textures.
