Additional info/contents This large concert work, consisting of five movements, takes the listener on a fascinating journey through the landscapes and cultures of South America.
The first movement, "La Laguna del Shimbe", describes the mysterious Huaringas lagoons in the Andes of Peru, known for their healing powers.
The second movement, "Los Aguarunas", introduces the proud and independent Aguaruna Indians who live in the jungles of Peru.
"Mekaron", the third movement, tells about the Indians of the Amazon region, their traditions and their life.
The fourth movement, "Kêêtuajê", describes the initiation ceremony of the Krahô tribe in Brazil.
The last movement, "Paulino Faiakan", recalls the protest of indigenous peoples against the construction of the Altamira Dam in Brazil, which was temporarily stopped by international support.
